New year, new you?

So, the first day of the new year is coming to an end and I can honestly say I had the best new years eve ever this year! I always feel so much pressure to have fun or do something cool, crazy and out of the ordinary on NYE but as it turns out, not having a plan was the best plan. It consisted of a comfy hotel room, crab fries, bar hopping, lots of tequila shots, and plenty of great conversation. Having such an amazing start to 2018 excites me for the year to come and all the opportunities it will bring!

With the start of each new year comes the time to sit down and reflect on the year that's past, create goals, and of course a plan to achieve them. We always hear the phrase "new year, new you" but the truth is that we don't need to wait for a new year to start the process of "the new you." Obviously the date on the calendar signifies the chance to change but it's not necessary, nor is it proven to be helpful.  Change and the realization that you have the ability to create your own reality can come at any time, in my case it pretty much slapped me in the face repeatedly until I acknowledged and did something about it!

During the last 4 weeks of 2017 I went through a major paradigm shift and I can't wait to press the restart button on my life. So with all of that in mind, I sat myself down and I said "self, WTF are you doing?" What do I like to do, what am I good at, what do I want from life? It may seem silly but these are the questions that I never got around to asking myself. After a long conversation with myself I created a vision board, joined my local yoga studio, started attending weekly reiki and crystal healing sessions and finally created this blog. My hope for the new year is to continue to immerse myself in things that feed my soul while discovering who I am and what I really want. Putting myself first is somewhat of a new concept for me so wish me luck!

Best wishes for your 2018!
